The increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is one of the factors that causes changes in the climate. These gases come from the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, unsustainable industrial practices, community activities that produce waste, and other activities that produce greenhouse gases.
Climate change’s impact on the earth is increasingly worrying for the international community, including Indonesia. The threat of environmental damage, environmental pollution, and environmental health has an impact on public health.

Copernicus charts show warming above pre-industrial levels since 1940. Even more worryingly, the global average temperature has exceeded the threshold of 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, a limit set in the Paris Agreement to prevent the worst impacts of climate change (Ade, 2025).
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has just stated that 2023 is recorded as the hottest year in the history of instrumental observations. The global average temperature anomaly reaches 1.40 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial times. This figure, said Dwikorita, almost touches the limit agreed in the Paris Agreement in 2015 that the world must contain the rate of global warming at 1.5 degrees Celsius. In 2023, there will be a new daily global temperature record and an extreme heat wave disaster that hit various regions in Asia and Europe (Aditya, 2024).
The world is getting hotter, take action like researchers from BRIN, UNAIR, NGO, Larangan Candi Village Government of Sidoarjo Regency and the community who have taken real action in their daily lives by carrying out the theme of zero warehouse-based waste management, taking real action by creating a guide module for the use of the BUMER waste bank application. As we know, waste is one of the sources of greenhouse gases such as CO2 and CH4.

In addition, the younger generation must also move as expressed by (Salsabila, 2024), real actions in daily life, as much as possible to contribute according to their respective abilities, including: (1). Reducing the use of plastic, using reusable shopping bags or bringing their drinking bottles to reduce single-use plastic waste, (2). Save Energy, turn off lights and electronic devices that are not in use, and use more efficient electrical equipment. (3). Recycling, separating organic and non-organic waste for recycling, (4). Planting Trees, participating in tree planting activities, (5). Maintaining Environmental Cleanliness, Participating in environmental cleaning activities or participating in cooperation, and disposing of garbage in its place, (6). Eco-Friendly Transportation, using public transportation, cycling, or walking to reduce exhaust emissions from private vehicles; (7). Reduce water consumption, use water sparingly and overcome pipe leakage to reduce the waste of water resources.
Collaboration in an effort to minimize the impact of climate change is very important, the world of universities, industry, NGOs, governments, communities and other relevant stakeholders together take real action according to their respective capacities and capabilities.
